Never Doubt
Van Morrison, Paul Simon and Jackson Browne are living examples of singer/songwriters who have an uncanny ability with words. Perhaps you have a favorite musician yourself. There are also authors and teachers like Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar and John Maxwell who have such a talent with words.
One quote that has struck me yet again this week is by Margaret Mead. She said “Never doubt that a small group of dedicated people can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”
I want to dedicate this blog to the idea that we need to keep coming together in groups.
That group may be as small as a handful of people or as large as a roomful, but if we are to change the world we must realize that we are much more likely to do so in packs. And yet, we find it so easy to isolate. I beg you to remember that the older you get, the easier it becomes to find yourself alone.
The other side of Mead’s quote about changing the world is Thoreau’s quote about how most men lead live of “quiet desperation.” Quiet desperation? That sounds awful and lonely. Who could possibly change the world in such circumstances?
The good news is that you don’t have to try. What you must do, is continue to pursue your pack, your posse, the people you run with. Find a group that will lift you up and encourage your goals and dreams. Find people who love you enough to speak the truth to you. Do this, and you will find yourself in the best possible situation.
This blog is dedicated to the group that partook in this year’s Building Champions Experience. It is an honor to be part of your crew.
Stay connected. You will find that the world needs you and that you will have more to give to the world when you are part of such a great network.
Coach Steve

Amen, Brother. Hanging with the posse should lift you up and the posse at BCE2010 was uplifting.
